Welcome to my 365 Blog

In order to keep up with all I have going on in my life I'm combining this blog and my family blog. I will still make 1 post a day, every day. But I will use it to make a family journal/photo book at the end of November 2009 to document our year. It's just too confusing having 7 or 8 blogs to work on. Anyways, continue follow me at

Day 69

Today was Luke's first day of Tball!!! He did great and seemed to have a lot of fun. His first game is Tuesday...stay tuned! After practice we QUICKLY planted our garden (peas, green beans, corn, spinach, cucumbers, pumpkin, beets, tomatoes, cantalope, and I think I'm forgetting one other thing). Then we got cleaned up for my Children's Mental Health Council's family lunch, guest speaker, vendors and party at Riot Zone. The food was AWESOME (BYU-I catered) and the speaker was fun and the inflatable toys were a huge HIT with the boys. There were at least twice as many people there this year as last year. It was a good time. What a fun filled day!

Day 67

Margaret left today. We'll miss her. We had fun while she was here. Today was also Luke's last day of creative dance at Shelley's for the summer. Here's Carson holding REALLY still so I could play with the aperature this evening. He did great! Even with a SLOW SS it's still very sharp!

Day 66

ANOTHER cold, windy, rainy day in Eastern Idaho!!! Nice. Anyhow, we made our way to Rexburg for a little shopping and other errands. We were going to walk around the college with Margaret, but graduation was starting so we decided against it. Here's little Lilly this afternoon making her funny face as she watched the cars drive by out front.

Day 65

The boys had their allergy/asthma appointment today...they did GREAT! Luke's breathing is so much better he doesn't need his nebulizer treatment every day anymore! Carson has one ear that has some fluid behind his eardrum. So, he'll get that tested again in a few months. We took Margaret to Lawrence's favorite mexican place to eat then we took it easy the rest of the day. Before dinner, we went to the homestead so I could play around with the camera while the boys explored around.

Day 64

Today our family took Margaret to Yellowstone Park today. It was cold, windy and rainy but so much FUN! We saw Old Faithful and walked around there and a few other places. We saw elk, geese, pretty blue birds, other colorful birds and a TON of buffalo. The most exciting part was when a HUGE buffalo walked RIGHT BY our van! It was at LEAST as tall as the van and gave us such a thrill! Here is Carson by the paint pots. It is such a beautiful area, I love going there and seeing it all. I feel so close to my creator when I'm there.

Day 62

We had a fun Saturday today! Playing outside, farmer's market, shopping, more playing outside and a nice dinner with Margaret (she got here last night). Here's Luke this evening hamming it up for the camera (one of the rare moments he was enjoying being my model). The skies were overcast, LOTS of wind and quite cold with some rain today (and some fun thunder).

Day 61

Rain Rain GO AWAY! It's SOOOOO COLD! Margaret is coming to stay for a week. It'll be fun going around showing her the sights and doing fun things! :) The lilacs are blooming in spite of the weather.

Day 60

Still cold and rainy...windy too. Carson picked this "puffy ball flower" for me. What a good boy.

Day 59

Overcast and rainy today. Temp dropped 30 degrees from yesterday. Nice. Here's ol' Lukey's feet. Sweet boy. The pic was his idea.

Day 58

Here's our sweet Lilly enjoying the nice, warm day! We finally got our yard work done today and worked on the house a bit, too! Good timing since there's a HUGE storm (wind, dust and rain) brewing outside tonight! Lilly really enjoys being outside. More than the boys ever did at her age. It must be because there is so much to see!

Day 57

Here is Luke with Miss Merrill, the owner of his AWESOME preschool! He had his graduation today and was soooo cute singing and reciting the poems and such they had for the program. This school year has been so wonderful for Luke. They went on at LEAST one field trip a month, learned poems, had parties and did all sorts of other things! I was amazed at how much they fit into their short school time. Out of nowhere Luke would start singing a song that I knew I hadn't taught him, would tell me his phone number or even say, "Mom, I can tie my own shoes." WOW! I am really glad he had the opportunity to go to school. He's made some neat friends and is more confident socially than he was last fall. I love you so much Luke, GOOD JOB!

Day 56

Mommy with her best girl. I love this little girl so much! I was a bit nervous about what I would be like with a girl but I love it more and more every day! She has got the sweetest personality and she LOVES her mom! How did I get so lucky?!

Day 55

Rule of the Mess: If making the mess keeps the kid(s) happy for longer than it takes to clean it up, the mess is hereby deemed acceptable.

Today was such a nice day that the boys spent most of it outside. When they did come inside they were muddy, dirty, stinky and so CUTE! Even Lilly got in on the action and enjoyed some time with her brothers. She really loves being outside, especially when she can watch her brothers run and play. Here's a picture of Carson jumping in his freshly created mud puddle.

Day 54

Luke had his last day of preschool today! It's amazing how fast time has gone by since I brought that little angel home from the hospital. I know, everyone says they grow up so fast...who knew everyone was RIGHT! I love that little guy with all of my heart. He had fun today at his end of school party. They had miniature ponies to ride, inflatable jump houses, food, and lots of FUN! Not much longer and he will be in Elementary School! Wow!

Day 53

What a day, what a day, WHAT A DAY! We picked up, cleaned, folded laundry, and cleaned some more...then the fun started. Hallie, Olivia, Ethan, Seth, Gracie and Matthew came over to play today! All day long was a big ol' party. To top it off, I had it in my mind that I was going to can 30# of hamburger TODAY. Why couldn't I have waited until tomorrow for goodness sake? Well, it's done. And I'm glad. Tomorrow I'll clean and clean and clean again. We miss daddy.

Day 52

Daddy went to California today so we took it easy all day. Dinner was pizza delivered and a picnic on the lawn! Lilly LOVED the grass (it was her first experience with it) and loved the pizza crusts even more! Nevermind the pj's...I told you we were chillin' today. Good times.

Day 51

Nicer day weather wise today but I was too scared to go out in it just in case! ;)

I've been playing with the Photoshop CS3 Extended that we got a couple of weeks ago and I'm REALLY trying. I can do a semi decent digital scrapbook page on it but I'm still working on getting a good photo edit. This was the best I've come up with so far. :) Any helpful hints are greatly appreciated!

Day 50

Silly Idaho weather! We had almost every imaginable thing happen today weather wise. Rain, snow, slushy rain, hail, wind, thunder and now it's bright and sunny! On a nicer note, Luke had fun at his preschool class today with movie day. He especially liked that he got to bring his pillow, even though he couldn't bring La Bwankie. I was able to recover the house from the weekend and Carson did his best to stay entertained and not get into TOO much trouble. All in all a very good day!

Day 49 - Mother's Day!

I feel like the luckiest woman that has ever lived. These three kids are so fantastic. There's nothing I'd change about them. I love them in a way I never knew possible. They truly fill me with joy and purpose. You three kids are everything I need, I love you so much!

Day 48

Lilly and I went on a girls afternoon today with my friend, Lesa Thompson. Movie, shopping and a little gossip. What fun! My little angel girl. I love you so much!

Day 47

Lukey is almost done with preschool! I can't believe it! He is such an imaginative, loving, smart, fun little boy. I love him so much and feel so blessed that I get to be his mother! He is such a special boy. No pic info today, PP in Picasa.

Day 46

Carson is on a roll. He is into EVERYTHING! Spring fever mabye? I don't know but it's driving me crazy. Today he painted himself, his sister, the floor, the highchair, my desk, and probably other things I have yet to see. He is lucky he's so cute! The picture was taken this afternoon with the Kodak. 1/180s, f/2.8, ISO 400

Day 45

Taken this morning at "the homestead" during my morning jog with my renewed Kodak Easyshare DX6490 camera. 1/500s, f/2.8 ISO 400 Beautiful morning, cloudy, smelled like rain, light breeze and about 50 degrees!

Day 44

What happens when the boys get together and have a ramage on the house while mom's busy? TIME OUT. For a long time. So long that the little guy falls asleep. Meanwhile his mother retraces their steps cleaning up bandaids out of the backyard, putting the contents of closets back in their place, cleaning food/candy/wrappers/etc from every nook & cranny of the house, sweeping "snacks" off the floor, closing doors & windows & cabinets, putting toys away, etc etc etc. No wonder he's tired! Little Carson fell asleep while in time out as I tried putting the house back together. Lilly's been sick and I'm trying to hold and comfort her a bit more. The boys took advantage of it. Ugh.
