Welcome to my 365 Blog

In order to keep up with all I have going on in my life I'm combining this blog and my family blog. I will still make 1 post a day, every day. But I will use it to make a family journal/photo book at the end of November 2009 to document our year. It's just too confusing having 7 or 8 blogs to work on. Anyways, continue follow me at

Day 38

To beat the drab of another cold & snowy day we gave Lilly her first solid food. (Solid as in not mashy food.) She had "Baby Mumm Mumms" (Rice Rusks, like a rice cracker...as modeled below) and teething biscuits. She LOVED them! She gobbled them and asked for more!

Day 37

Luke had his hearing test today. He passed with no problems. So now I know that he's choosing not to hear me when I ask him to do something. ha ha ha The boys made this little "phone" in the backyard this afternoon. They took turns yelling at each other in it. It was pretty cute.

Day 36

The second nice day of the year (well, half of the day, it's awful windy again this evening) but at least we enjoyed a few nice hours! Lawrence rented a de-thatcher for the lawn and spent the whole day working on the yard. I planted flowers in my flower pots to contribute! We also got the brakes fixed in the van, they were desperate. We're super excited for FHE tonight!

Day 35

It was the second nice day of the year. Warmer (in the 60s), only a nice breeze and sunny ALL day long. We had Regional conference today and it was really nice. When we got home we all crashed for HOURS. Then we went to the Douglas's house for a nice dinner. It was a lot of fun! The kids even put on a show for us at the end of the evening.

Day 34

Well, I've been waiting for it to happen and it did. Our first child with stitches. Honestly, I'm surprised it took this long before we were in with one of our kids getting them sewn up. This morning daddy was showing Carson one of his knives from his collection and it slipped. Carson ended up at the Dr with 4 stitches on the top of his foot. He was a trooper though, he only cried when they gave him the shot to numb his foot.

Day 33

Day 2 of overhauling the house. We finished cleaning it up! We even started decorating it, hanging up pictures & other decorations. These are Carson's eyes. My big helper. He does more than his share of work every day. He works especially hard when Luke is at preschool. What a good boy!

Day 32

Today was overhaul the house day part 1. With Lilly strapped on my back my little helpers and I clened room after room, did a mountain of laundry and picked up a LOT of messes! The boys earned .08cents for their help (well worth it, don't you think?) and I had some "happy helpers"!

Day 31

Luke found out on Sunday that he was getting shots at his Dr's appointment today. So, for 3 days he fretted and moaned, whined and cried about having to get a shot. We talked to his best friend Gracie about it and she told him how she kept from crying. Finally, just an hour before his appointment we came up with a plan. He'll sit up, hold my hands and only cry "a little...and not scream". That's exactly what happened! Dad was surprised that it was four shots, not one, but Luke didn't seem ruffled. I had to carry him everywhere for hours after the shot but he was good as new before too long. Good job Luke, I'm so proud of you!

Here's Carson this evening in VERY poor light (cloudy outside, dusk with the window a good 8 feet away...partially closed drapes). I have the pic info though! ISO 800, f/2.9, 1/27s I NEED BETTER LIGHT! It's noisy & the color doesn't seem true even after I PP in Picasa.

Day 17

This was taken inside my parents house mid morning with natural light. It turned out VERY grainy so I tried to subdue that some by converting it to B&W then warmifying it to turn it sepia colored. I don't think it was very successful. I just needed more light. Post Processed in Picasa.
